Selby confident Snooker is not corrupt
December 22, 2008
Mark Selby is confident that the Snooker authorities will not find any evidence of match fixing. The Snooker authorities are currently investigation suspicious betting around the Jamie Burnett and Stephen Maguire game where a flurry of bets were put on a 9-3 win by Maguire, which then occurred.
Selby however doubts that any professional snooker player would put their career on the line by throwing a match. Selby knows Stephen Maguire well and believes Stephen would have far too much to lose to throw a match, as he has a glittering career in snooker ahead of him.
Selby has never come accross any match fixing in his snooker career, and has never been approached by anybody looking to fix a match.
The investigation into the match fixing by Snookers governing body will be throrough, and the WPBSA will persue the matter vigorously until the situation has been resolved
Snookers Governing Body Launches Formal Probe
December 19, 2008
Snookers governing body has started an investigation into potential match fixing during the UK Championships. The investigation is based around Jamie Burnetts game against Stephen Maguire, where many bets we placed on Maguire winning the match 9-3. Suspicions arosed when the match finished exactly that score.
After investigation it was noticed that Jamie missed a particularly easy black ball in one of the matches, that would have given him 4 frames hence making the bets void.
Snookers governing body has said it will persue the issue until it is happy that a correct answer has been discovered. This will include information from players, officials and bookmakers amongst many others.
The last instance of any match fixing allegation was back in 1995 where a player lost 10-2 to Jimmy White and was secretly filmed by a newspaper agreeing to fix the results of matches. The investigation continues.

Ding was playing against John Higgins and was trailing 2-0 when on the third frame he potted all the 15 reds followed by all of the colours. Ding appeared nervous towards the end of the break, and looked to have lost concentration towards the end of the maximum break
The crowd could sense what was coming and urged the Chinese player on towards the end of the break. The entire crowd gave Ding a massive cheer when he achieved his 147, who was then congratulated by former World champion and opponent John Higgins.

O’Sullivan Admits he will never beat Hendrys Trophy Haul
December 12, 2008
O’Sullivan has insisted that he will never win as many major snooker trophies as snooker legend Stephen Hendry. Hendry has won 7 world titles, and Ronnie does not believe he will still be playing snooker in 5 years time, which will put him out of the running as he needs 5 titles more to draw level.
Although O’Sullivan lives and breathes snooker he believes he does not have the drive that Hendry has got, and has not got the passion to keep playing on in 5 years time.
O’Sullivan has managed to win all of Snookers major titles, but has been plagued by personal difficulty, including bad depression. O’Sullivan has come out of his troubles, and is still the man to beat on the tables at the moment
O’Sullivan still has the odd occassion where he thinks ‘I dont want to be here’ and has often walked out of matches. He has now grown up however and realises that if he does things like this again he will get a very heavy fine, or even worse get thrown out of the game.
O’Sullivan has now decided that if he feels he has had enough, he will NOT enter the tournament itself rather than throwing a wobbler in a live match

During his time as a professional snooker player Alex won over hoards of fans, and is loved by the snooker community from the Preston area of the UK. Fans however are very concerned over Higgins health issues, and will be looking to cherish the moment they see him take to the blaize again.
Higgins was diagosed with cancer of the throat over 10 years ago, and has had numerous surgical treatments to help him remove lymph nodes in his neck. Although Higgins health has deteriorated he is still a great player and very good at potting.
Stephens admits he is the underdog for the Premier League
December 5, 2008
Stephen Hendry, the most succesful snooker player in the world has admitted that he is the underdog for the Premier League after losing recently to Mark Selby and Joe Perry.
Hendry ever the professional has been determined to fight his way back into contention to push himself into the semi finals of the tournament. Hendry just made it into the final four of the tournament and is happy that he has made it into the later stages of the tournament.
Although Hendry has put himself down as the underdog to win the Premier League, it is simply one match and it could go either way on the day. Hendry is enjoying his snooker in the Premier League, finding it a nice difference from the normal ranking events,
Although Hendry is a legend in Snooker he has not won a ranking event since 2005 and will be pushing hard to start winning trophies again like back in his hey day. Hendry seems to have had the easier draw in the Premier League avoiding Ronnie O’Sullivan who has won the last 4 titles!
O’Sullivan however is still favourite to win the tournament. I hope Hendry makes it to the final and plays O’Sullivan as it will be good to see the new younger champion against the old master!
Where does Ronnie O’Sullivan rank amongst the snooker legends?
December 4, 2008
Steve Davis has declared that Ronnie O’Sullivan is simply the greatest sportsman their has ever been. This is a bold statement, but most snooker professionals believe Ronnie is the best Snooker player the world has ever seen.
O’Sullivan is far from perfect his father is in prison, and he has suffered with depression for a number of years. His snooker talent hower is undeniable, he can play as well as most professional players with his left hand!
Although O’Sullivan might not be as consistent as other sporting legends such as Tiger Woods or Roger Federer his domination of snooker is clear to be seen. There is no player that can get anywhere near as good as Ronnie if he is on top of his game
O’Sullivan like other sporting geniuses such as Eric Cantona for Manchester United is very unpredictable, and has even threatened to quit the game on a couple of occassions. His unpredicatable nature however makes him the player he is today.
Where do you think O’Sullivan ranks amongst Snooker legends, is he in your opinion the best? I hope Ronnie keeps on top of his emotions and stays in the game for another few years yet, I am sure his fellow professionals would like him to keep playing, as professionals always enjoys playing against the best
