Steve Davis profile
March 6, 2008
In the 1980′s Steve Davis was without a doubt the best snooker player in the world. Davis always took his time on the table and was known for his superb safety shots. Davis won his first world title in 1981 when he beat Doug Mountjoy 18-12 in the world final. He was however most famously known for his defeats, including the time when he lost in the famous 1985 black ball final game against Dennis Taylor.
Davis or the nugget as he is known is now over 50 years old, and is a regular pundit on the BBC snooker shows. He still however plays snooker regularly and achieved his dream of a top 16 ranking at the age of 50, no mean feat.
